๐ŸŸ March, 04

๐ŸŸ 1967.
๐Ÿ”ฎ The Experience visit the St. Quentin Flea Market at the suggestion of Alain Dister, who accompanies the group throughout the afternoon. Photos from the afternoon later appear in Dister’s book, It’s Only Rock And Roll.

๐Ÿ”ฎ Jimi visits the studios at Radio Europe N°1 where he listens to Johnny Hallyday’s rendition of “Hey Joe”. That makes him smile.

๐Ÿ”ฎ Jimi goes to the Clignancourt Flea Market in St Ouen for shopping. He is accompanied by Noel, Mitch, Alain Dister (Rock and Folk) and Long Chris who joined the band. A passer-by, seeing Jimi, exclaims: "Little Richard!” Jimi's big smile at the confusion of this Parisian who met Jimi on his way ...

๐Ÿ”ฎ The Experience perform at Le Cadran-Omnibus in Colombes. MC Robert Ismir, DJ Seta Seto.

๐Ÿ”ฎ The Experience perform as part of the “Law Society Graduation Ball” for the Facultรฉ de Droit d’Assas at Universitรฉ Panthรฉon-Assas Paris II, where they are supported by The Pretty Things.

๐ŸŸ 1968.
๐Ÿ”ฎ Noel and Mitch fly to Nassau (The Bahamas), while Jimi returns to New York. In the evening, he jams with Eric Clapton at The Scene Club.

๐ŸŸ 1969.
๐Ÿ”ฎ Record Plant Studios. Jimi: Let's Drop Some Ludes & Vomit With Jimi.

1. Driving South/Everything's Gonna... (with John McLaughlin)
The jam with John McLaughlin (you can barely hear him) -- as in any jam, parts are absolutely ferocious, and other parts bog down with uninspired noodling, but the sound quality is great. Sounds almost as if it was recorded outdoors!
2. Drone Blues
Despite the track listing, this is actually a tryout version of Night Bird Flying, without vocals. Sound quality is good here, too, and there are some smokin' guitar solos.
3. Easy Blues
A more complete version of the track that was on Nine to the Universe. Larry Lee plays on this one (as well as Jimi of course) -- a cool, loping blues.
4. Strato Strut
Not Strato Strut at all, but Drone Blues, I believe. An uptempo instrumental.
5. I'm A Man - Instrumental
Part of a jam with Buddy Miles (no bass player at all), in which parts sound like Calling All Devil's Children.
6. I'm A Man - With Vocals
An early tryout/jam of Stepping Stone.
7. Instrumental Jam - Embryonic Version Of Tomorrow Never Knows (with John McLaughlin)
Listed as "Embryonic version of Tomorrow Never Knows", this is a long meandering jam.
US bootleg released in 1983. Single cartoon sleeve with insert. The insert lists only track listing and says it is recorded in Record Plant, LA. Most of songs are incorrectly titled. These songs are initial/root mixes from which legit versions are made and differs from tracks used on officially released "Hear My Music" album and thus do not violate copyright laws.

๐ŸŸ 1970.
๐Ÿ”ฎ On the heels of Jimi delivering the completed Band Of Gypsys release to Capitol Records on February 25, 1970, the label quickly jumped into the mastering stage for the record, ensuring its speedy delivery to store shelves.
