Late afternoon jam session at 17:00 with:
โ Jimi - playing a right-handed, TV-blonde Gibson Les Paul โSpecialโ guitar, (possibly borrowed from Animalsโ guitarist Vic Briggs),
โ Chris Wood - flute,
โ Steve Winwood - organ,
โ Trevor Burton - drums,
โ Carl Wayne - congas, and
โ Vic Briggs - playing a Gibson โEB-2โ bass guitar.
Chris Wood taped the jam (reported to have lasted between 1 1/2 to 2 hours, no less) on his portable Philips cassette recorder. (the one Jimi can be seen holding in a photograph).
Afterwards, Keith Altham interviews Jimi for the June 8 edition of New Musical Express.

Honolulu, Waikiki Shell, 2805 Monsarrat Avenue, Oโahu island, HI, USA. JHE
Prior to their performance that evening, the Experience sat for a radio interview in studio at KPOI FM. On stage that evening, with the technical difficulties which had plagued the groupโs abbreviated performance the previous evening apparently repaired, Jimi put forth a superb effort.
