1966. ๐ London ↪ The group flew from Le Bourget Airport back to London. ↪ “Scotch Of St. James”, Chas jams with Viv Prince, very possibly Jimi attended also. ↪ When returning to England, Noel had money problems, so he did a few gigs with the Loving Kind.
↪ Regent Sounds, Noel demos Noel: "I got together with (drummer) Pete Kircher and did a couple demos of my songs at Regent Sound."
↪ Speakeasy, JHE see Vanilla Fudge play. Carmine Appice: “Later on we sort of found each other in London at the Speakeasy. He said to me: “I really dig Vanilla Fudge, so if you’re in that, wow!” And I said: “Yeah, I recognised you as being Jimi Hendrix because of the fact that you’re the only one I know that plays with your teeth!”
1968. ๐ Los Angeles ↪ Jimi, Mitch, George Harrison & Patti Boyd and Beatles’ ex-US roadie, Jock McLean attend Cream’s final L.A. show at The Forum.

Mick Cox (guitarist, Eire Apparent): “We arrived at the club. Eric Burdon was there walking around and Bobby Darin... We were all pushed into to booth... Jimi had been to see the Cream at the Fillmore, and he came back and was completely blown out. He came in and he sat down in the booth, and he said: ‘God, I’ve just been to see Clapton, and it was unbelievable, my mind’s completely blown out. I guess I just can’t play anymore.’ Then Lee Michaels came on (he had a huge bank of combinations of Fender and Sunn); just the drummer and him, right. He started playing and within like a minute Jimi was up, got the guitar, plugs it in and it just went on all night. It was just unbelievable... I’m certain it was taped!”
↪ Later that night Jimi totals his Corvette. Stickells had just driven it over from New York for him. “The day I got there he totally wrecked it.”
Mitch: "On a Saturday night we went to the Cream group and then there was a party on the way back home, and the party ended at about five or seven o'clock, when I went to bed, I heard a voice: "Guess what, I just had an accident with my car, I thought I was dreaming and fell asleep at the wheel." Several hours later, I discovered that it was true. How the hell did Jimi survive? I have no idea, he had completely demolished it. Fortunately he had turned right. If he had been to the left, he would have gone straight to the edge of the canyon and made a 300-meter fall. "

At the preliminary hearing, Judge Robert Taylor ordered Hendrix to return to the Toronto Court of Justice on December 8, 1969 for a full trial. ๐ 1970. Albuquerque Tribune (June) review by unknown: “Jimi Hendrix’ appearance at the Civic Auditorium was a disappointment. If it’s possible Hendrix has become too proficient with his trade - the guitar. So easy was it for him to strum and pick his way through the numbers that his mood was one of complete nonchalance. He simply stood in front of the mike, slowly munched his gum, let his eyes close, and played his white guitar.”

Eddie: “The second night it got totally swamped out, I mean it rained in buckets and the whole show was cancelled. And I remember I got in the limo with Jimi and Mitch and Jimi was furiously scribbling in the back of the limo. I glanced over, I could see, ‘Rainy day dream away’.”
Mitch: “We were looking forward to the second show at 7.30, or something like that. Suddenly one of those huge thunderstorms appeared, the sort you only get down there and the second show was cancelled - rain stopped play.”
Michael Laing: “There was a drought in, in-eh that whole part of Florida, which had gone on for about a month. And I guess some time the night before the show they sent some ‘planes out to seed the clouds over the Everglades, and it worked-heh.”

Frank Zappa also acquired the remains of the burnt Astoria guitar from Jimi’s ex-roady ‘H’ at some point after Miami. Songs: unknown Jimi played a red, left-handed Guild SF-V Starfire Deluxe guitar with a Bigsby Vibrato unit manufactured around 1966 it was custom-painted by an unknown guitarist, who gave the guitar as a present to Jimi during the jam session.
Mitch: “We'd all psyched ourselves up to play, so several of the people on the bill, including us, went off to find somewhere else. We ended up in this little hotel on the beach called Castaways with, among other people, Frank Zappa and Arthur Brown singing.”
Noel: “When the second day’s show was rained out, Jimi and I headed to the hotel for a jam and general craziness with Arthur Brown, Steve Paul the Mothers of Invention and Blue Cheer. That was coming to be the pattern - fight, get smashed and make up and be friends, but that’s a kind of relationship which can’t go on for ever.”
Frank Zappa: “... and there was a jam session in Miami.”
Trixie Sullivan: “They had a jam session that night. Who else was there, oh, John Lee Hooker, Frank Zappa - it was absolutely incredible...”
