Chas: “Jimi got on well with Noel but used to criticize his playing. It was a love-hate relationship.”

Ian Vargeson: "I saw the Jimi Hendrix Experience at Dereham, I remember Jimi getting bored in the middle of one song and starting another and also damaging the ceiling with his guitar; but again we went home appreciating that we’d seen something special."

Jam session (4 hours 15 minutes!): Jimi (guitar), Janne Carlsson (drums), George Clemons (drums), Bo Hansson (organ), Georg Wadenius (guitar) of Blood, Sweat & Tears. The complete jam was recorded by Anders Lind (producer of Hansson): "It is quite enjoyable to have it all to myself." Noel didn't want to participate in the jam and instead moved on to the "Klubb En Till."
Thomas Mera Gartz has written about his session with Jimi Hendrix on Filips in the text "Report from a music bucket": One evening, Jimi Hendrix came up and asked while we were playing (he'd jammed with us once in a while), a bit too quiet for my ears, "Do you mind?" A little too strong, I replied "No!" And of course I meant "Yes, yes, please." Jimpa retreated little, Jan-Erik gave him the bass, and then he happened to "No" as he had heard, stepped up and played electric bass as a guitar in the jam that broke out.

🌵 1968. A mid-day session at the Record Plant yields some additional mixes of “Long Hot Summer Night”, none of which are tagged as a final version. Linda McCartney photographs the Experience in New York’s Central Park. Several small children are gathered and hang-out with Jimi, Mitch and Noel on the Alice In Wonderland statue in the heart of Park. Jimi later chooses these photographs for the cover of the forthcoming Electric Ladyland double-LP. Linda Eastman: "The children had no idea who was Jimi and we selected them randomly in the park"

🌵 1967. Between 6 and 10 June the Jimi Hendrix Experience did several photo sessions with photographer Karl Ferris. It was impossible to determine which photo was taken on what day. But it was possible to divide the sets into 4 different dates. 🌵 1968. New York City, The Fillmore East, NY, U.S.A. Jimi jammed with The Electric Flag. Songs: unknown
Eric Barrett: "We had to re-build the equipment. A guy from Long Island called Tony Frank, who was a genius with amplifiers built 'em up for us. I explained the problem, that Jimi played everything at number ten on the knob - bass, treble, everything. I said the amplifiers were not lasting more than one show, and they just burnt out. Tony stripped it all down and built 'em up. He cranked everything up and one afternoon at a sound check Jimi tried it out. It worked. We tried Sunn amplifiers, and Jimi just burnt them out. So we stuck with Marshalls. Jimi always used them... If I tried to test his equipment, all I got was feedback. Jimi could control it all with his fingers, and I still don't understand to this day how he did it. It was all part of his genius." The apartment on 23 Brook Street, London was found by Kathy Etchingham in an advertisement of one of London's evening newspapers in June 1968, while Jimi was in New York. He moved briefly in July before returning to the United States for a major tour. He spent some time decorating the apartment to his own taste, including buying curtains and cushions in the nearby John Lewis Department Store, as well as ornaments and knick-knacks at the Portobello Road Market.
