Near Luxembourg, 2 1/2 hours drive from Nancy. Same line-up as the 13th. This time the group played 25 minutes and did six songs, Jimi breaking a string after the 4th.
Noel: “After our Luxembourg gig we had a day off to look forward to. We got drunk together after the show and at half twelve we crawled into the coach, set off and promptly ran out of petrol. Was it cold! Mitch grabbed Chas’ raincoat for himself and went to sleep. Chas, Jimi and I huddled together and tried to keep from freezing through the long, long night.”
↪ Around this date Jimmy becomes Jimi, which was a suggestion from Chas.
His name was already spelt "Jimi" in the 15 October edition of L'Est Republicain newspaper's review of the Hallyday show:

Shortly after this hopeless session Lee returned to Memphis.
Mitch: The band was a shambles. Apparently, they'd been working for about ten days when I got there, but you'd never have known. We rehearsed up at the house for about a week or ten days. It was probably the only band I've ever been involved with that simply did not improve over that length of time.
Larry Lee: “I don’t know how much pressure the management put on Jimi, to be honest. I just know there was a conflict and that was the reason I told Jimi that I would leave. I was seeing that he was fighting a battle that maybe if I was gone it would be more like what they wanted. They wanted a three-piece group as far as I can gather. The Experience was a hit and a moneymaker for him so I just told him I was gonna leave. He said, 'Well, we'll get a drummer and we'll get back together.' I just came on back to Memphis. I was hoping that that would have taken some of the heat off Jimi."
Billy: "Larry just said, ‘l think I'm probably in the way,' and took it upon himself to leave on good terms. There was just too much bullshit around him to handle. He just decided that he had had enough."

After Jimi and Mitch arrive in Palma, Majorca, Spain the group is scheduled to open the new Sergeant Pepper’s night club, which is the latest venture managed by Chas Chandler and Michael Jeffrey. Jimi and I swapped instruments, explains Noel in his diary. At the end of “Wild Thing,” Jimi raised his guitar towards the dropped ceiling and it went straight through the flimsy material. So he left it swinging there and the crowd roared.”

Barry Jenkins: We (The New Animals) were on the same flight, and I'll never forget seeing Jimi sitting in his seat with his ear pushed up against the side wall of the plane. I asked him what he was doing and he said, 'I'm getting inspiration for the next album, man.' He was listening to the sounds of the engine vibrating inside the walls.
