> Mitch and Noel fly from London Heathrow Airport, Middlesex, to New York City, U.S.A.
Noel: The first time (I took LSD) was on an airplane going from London to New York. I was sitting beside Brian Jones and he gave me this little tablet and he said, 'Take it.' So I took it because, like, he was Brian Jones. The next thing I remember was that I was on some boat in New York and I said, 'Well, it doesn't affect me.' And the next thing I knew, I was in San Francisco.
Mitch: We'd been looking forward to going to the States, for the first time in my life and Noel's. There we were, first-class seats on TWA, Eric Burdon was on the flight and so was Brian Jones.
> New York City, U.S.A. Jimi is taken to the offices of booking agency Premier Talent, and fan club organizers Teen Mail Ltd.
Keith Altham: With Jimi dressed in multi-colored floral jacket, white trousers, emerald green scarf and gold medallion embossed with the words 'Champion Bird Watcher' we discovered he had obtained the honorary title of 'the man most unlikely to get a taxi in New York'.Getting cabs was a lot of fun at that time with Jimi, 'cause you had three chances of not getting a cab in the Village; 1. If you were sort of a weird looking hippie; 2. if you had long hair; and 3. if you were black. And he made it on all three accounts! So not only would the cabs not stop for him, they would try and run him over. So we would have to hide him in doorways and go and stop a cab, then we would get in the cab and even then the cabbies would tell him to get out. We had to get out of a couple of cabs and I'd get a bit humpty about it... But of course a year or two later when Jimi went back as a superstar they couldn't do enough for him.

South Saturn Delta, Have You Ever Been (To Electric Ladyland)
Musicians/Engineers: Jimi Hendrix, Mitch Mitchell, Noel Redding (?), Larry Fallon and his horn section
This session included Jimi working with Larry Fallon and his horn section for South Saturn Delta in which Jimi used a yellow Les Paul Special. Aside from adding bass parts and guitar overdubs, Jimi also played live with the horn section to attempt to get another basic track. Jimi then performed a few solo takes of Have You Ever Been (To Electric Ladyland) which landed on The Jimi Hendrix Hendrix Experience Boxset. Mitch then joined Jimi for some formal takes of the song. Take 4 produced the master, and after numerous bass overdubs and vocal overdubs, the song was mixed and set aside for Electric Ladyland.
