🚗 The Experience perform at Cobo Hall in Detroit, Michigan with support from Cat Mother & the All Night Newsboys.
Concert at 20:30.
Audience: 10000
Noel: “November 30 is the date Jimi nearly missed. Mitch and I caught the plane and Jimi never showed. We were met in Detroit by people from Warners and taken to the hotel. Jeffery then phoned; “Jimi has freaked out” he says and is refusing to come. I don’t know what Michael said to Jimi but it must have been heavy, for Jimi decides to come at the last minute, though they have to hire a Learjet to get him there on time. In spite of it all, the show is a good one. Probably played well out of sheer relief.”

1968.
🎸 Philharmonic Hall New York, N.Y. Two Shows.
A very prestigious gig. JHE were the first ‘rock’ band as such to play there.

Noel: “The plush velvet comfort of the Philharmonic Hall was a dream come true... The acoustics were impeccable. The subtlest nuance carried distortion-free to the furthest corners... It was sobering to follow the New York Brass Quintet and harpsichordist Fernando Valenti, and difficult to adjust to the thought that every vibration of every note would be heard!”

1966.
🍯 Jimi’s 24th birthday.
Kathy gives Jimi a black shirt with red roses for his birthday.

1967.
🍯 Jimi's 25th birthday.
↪ Flying from Ringway Airport, Manchester, to Aldergrove Airport, Belfast, Northern Ireland. Apparently Jimi's management had asked for the JHE to be picked up in a white American limo, but the best the 'Festival Of Arts' people could come up with was a black Humber!
Accommodation: "Grand Central Hotel", Royal Avenue, Belfast.

↪ 'Festival Of Arts'/"Whitla Hall"/"Queens College", University Road, Belfast
Concert (two shows - 19.00 and 21.15).
Offstage, Jimi is incongruously mild, affable and unassuming. He sat in the dressing room, temporarily detached from the bevy of road-managers, and munched birthday cake. He constantly strummed a guitar covered in psychedelic patterns.

↪ “Whitla Hall” - Interview with Jimi conducted by B.P. Fallon for Melody Maker (published 23 December 1967)

1968.
🍯 Jimi's 26th birthday.
Rhode Island Arena Providence, Rhode Island. Concert at 20:30.
Noel: “We played a two hour. Good sounding gig.”

1969.
🍯 Jimi's 27th birthday.
Jimi celebrates his 27th birthday backstage with The Rolling Stones as they perform at Madison Square Garden in New York City. While backstage, Jimi jams with Mick Taylor of The Stones, a jam that is caught on 16mm film. Afterwards, Jimi joins The Stones at Mont Key’s home where they continue Jimi’s birthday celebrations.

🍓 London, “I.B.C. Sound Recording Studios”, 35 Portland Place
Chas took the group to visit The Who during a recording session.

Noel: “Kit Lambert and Chris Stamp…to impress us they took us ‘round their studio to meet their group, The Who, who had just struck lucky.”

↪ Hounslow, Middlesex, “Ricky Tick”, High Street - JHE concert (30 minutes), supporting The New Animals. JHE were not advertised.

1967.
🍓 London, BBC Playhouse Theatre, Northumberland Ave, St James’, England, JHE
BBC Radio 1 ‘Top Gear’ show. JHE portion was a re-broadcast from 15 October, originally recorded on 6 October.
With: The Kinks, J.J. Jackson, The Herd, Family, Elmer Gantry’s Velvet Opera

↪ "Palace Theatre", Oxford Road, Manchester, Lancashire
Concert (two shows - 18.00 and 20.25).
Accommodation: "Excelsior Hotel", Withenshaw, Manchester, Lancashire.

Noel: “In Manchester we got stoned in the afternoon and nearly got thrown out of the hotel. In Manchester, a thin three-fan welcoming committee presented me the gift of ‘Please’ written 5,000 times. These days the bands weren’t the only ones sniffing pure methedrine crystal and living off a rainbow of diet pills.”

Chris Liston (fan): “I think one of the best gigs I saw in Manchester was Jimi Hendrix at the Palace. As I remember he stayed on stage longer that the theatre wanted him to, in the end they unplugged him.”

🌳 November, 24

1966.
🌳 London - “De Lane Lea Music Ltd” - JHE studio recordings from 14:00 to 17:00
Songs: Love Or Confusion // Here He Comes (aka Lover Man)

Noel: "Chas wouldn't tell us what to do, but he would advise, 'Well, that needs a little bit more work on it and we've got a demo of it now, so we can try it again next time.' That sort of stuff. That's where Chandler was so good."

1967.
🌳 Bristol, Colston Hall, Colston Street, England.
Concert (two shows - 18.30 and 20.45).
Support: The Move, Pink Floyd, Amen Corner, Outer Limits, Eire Apparent, The Nice. Attended by Roger Taylor (later of ‘Queen’)
Accommodation: Grand Spa Hotel, Sion Hill, Clifton, Bristol.

(Bristol Evening Post): There was a lot of broken guitars on the stage and glasses at the bar. Excited and drunk Welsh teenagers had to be deported after incidents at the auditorium bar. Others on the other side of the Severn Bridge came to support a Welsh band, Amen Corner. Screaming like patients, they insulted the other groups and threatened the police with brandishing stools and bottles. Then there was Pink Floyd and The Nice, who on their side destroyed an electric organ and shattered a few thousand pairs of eardrums before getting lost in a cloud of colorful smoke.
