Accommodation: "Otani" house, Diamond Head, Honolulu.
Tom Moffatt: "I remember that Jimi's guys came in a day before he did, and they took all the good rooms. And he got the worst of the rooms. But he was very gracious, you know; he wasn't like some acts would be. I just remember being around the house once in awhile. They were really digging it because it was something different for them as they used to stay in hotel rooms. It had a pool; it was quite private. There was a little hut for the maids, and that's where Jimi ended up!"

Partnering with the Memorial Day Long Weekend release of Woodstock – The Motion Picture, Cotillion Records released the triple-LP set Woodstock (SD350) that featured Hendrix’s live medley of “Star Spangled Banner / Purple Haze / Instrumental Solo.” The collection became an instant classic, entering the Billboard charts at #4 before peaking at the top of the charts, where it sat untouched for a four-week period.
