Noel: “...10-30, had a smoke got so stoned... plane, took 2 ½ hours.... hotel. Watched T.V. had a smoke...washed my hair, went to gig at 7-... Elinore in L.A.... In Seattle, Jimi’s family (Al & Leon) was waiting for us at the airport. It was a triumphal return. Jimi received a key to the city, and Mitch and I were made to feel welcome in a warm, happy family reunion. I got stoned with Jimi’s brother Leon and caught the odd moment with my new super-eight camera. It was a brief hiatus however.”
Jimi: "This thing in Seattle, it really was something, the only keys I hoped to see were those of the prison, but I saw my family and we had a good time together. My father: I want to buy you a house, I will buy it for the winter.
I have a six-year-old sister, Janie, whom I had never seen, she is very kind. I have taken a picture of her, she is really too cute."
Jimi was thrown out of the school at the age of 16, apparently for holding the hand of a white girl in class.

1970.
🔞 Record Plant, New York Studio Recording Work continued on the mixing of “Izabella” before Hendrix and engineer Bob Hughes crafted what was deemed the master. This mix, coupled with “Stepping Stone”, would later be issued by Reprise as a single in April 1970. The track can now be heard as part of the Voodoo Child: The Jimi Hendrix compilation. With “Izabella” deemed complete, Hendrix began work on mixes of “Sky Blues Today” [“Stepping Stone”].
