Mitch Mitchell's hair is re-permed by Gary Craze at Sweeney's, London.

Mitch: Noel said there was girl he knew that could perm my hair and it would save money, rather than going to a hairdresser. After she had finished, it was a complete mess. I ended up having to go to the hairdresser anyway.

Audience: ~ 2,000

Jimi: โ€œS.O.S. Same old stuff (?).โ€
Neville: โ€œPlace very good, audience good, Jimi was in very bad mood, played badly, did short time. Everybody disappointed.โ€

Anonymous: โ€œI was at the Hendrix show. Great opening acts, except Soft Machine, A bloody bore. Jimi did not like the audience yelling for Purple Haze. โ€˜That song would be more of a drag for me than youโ€™. After 4 or 5 tunes he blew out his amps. Did not return to the stage and listened to a 20 minute drum-bass solo. Was a great day of music nonetheless.โ€

๐ŸŒณ 1970.
Jimi began this session joined by an unidentified drummer and together the two players recorded a quick rendition of โ€œBleeding Heartโ€. This was followed by three takes of โ€œMidnight Lightning.โ€ Bassist Billy Cox joined the session and s the tandem ran through four takes of โ€œBleeding Heart,โ€ the later of which was flagged as the master and later transferred to Jimiโ€™s own Electric Lady Studios where additional guitar and a new drum part were overdubbed by Jimi and Mitch Mitchell. Although Jimi never fully completed โ€œBleeding Heartโ€ prior to his death, it has since been issued as part of First Rays Of The New Rising Sun.
