Studio recording of the JHE: โHey Joeโ (with The Breakaways - Margo Newman and Lissa Gray - on harmony vocals) and one other song.
Noel: โDid two songs. Used Chasโ bass. Sounded good at the session today. โWe took about 30 takes of Hey Joeโ.
Jimi: โOur music is improvisation. No number is the same twice. While we were working on โHey Joeโ from the beginning to the recording session, I donโt think we played it the same way twice. But that was some time ago. We all dug โHey Joeโ as a number, that was in October, so we put it down on record. It was the first time I had ever sung on a record, actually. Chas was sure it would be a hit.โ
