Vicky Redding: “I remember looking up the stairs and seeing Jimi – and the charisma – I couldn’t take my eyes off him…he was so polite and charming and shy.” 


Noel: “Rehearsal at Stan’s.” Songs: unknown 

QUEEN: “... looks like a cross between Bob Dylan and the wild man of Borneo and he’s currently laying London dead. He plays passable guitar with his teeth, good guitar behind his back or neck, and really brilliant guitar from his waist. He is also the most attractive personality to arrive on our doorstep in a blue moon.”

🔻 The album 'Band of Gypsys', was recorded at the Fillmore East in New York City with Billy Cox on bass and Buddy Miles on drums, frequently referred to as the Band of Gypsys.

The album mixes funk and rhythm and blues elements with hard rock and jamming, an approach which later became the basis of funk rock.
