Closed as a cinema in 1961 when it became a concert hall. The original stage was not in use in ‘63 when the Beatles played and capacity then was down to 800. When the Beatles played the very low stage was briefly invaded by two or three girls. Concert between 19:30 and 22:30 (60 minutes). Noel was probably using Chas’ 4-string Gibson EB2 bass.
